Directions

From the North, leave the M5 at Junction 23 onto the A38 for Bridgwater and then follow A39 for Porlock via Williton towards Minehead and onto Porlock.

From the village the road climbs dramatically up to open moorland coming in about 4 miles to the Culbone Inn on the left. 2 miles further on take the first turning on the left signed to Oare and follow the lane down to the hamlet where the entrance to the Manor is (directly in front) next to the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin.

Please Note: Do not follow your satnav if it tells you to take the road immediately after the Culbone Inn as this road is impassable in most cars. Continue on the A39 until you see a small domestic wind turbine on the right and just after that the little lane down to Oare has a white signing referring to Lorna Doone Valley. This leads you down to Oare Manor which you will see in the distance as you go down the hill into the valley.
